Sunday's winter storm brought plenty of work for sheriff's officers in our area.
The Marathon County Sheriff's Department had dealt with about two dozen weather-related crashes by late Sunday afternoon. Most of those crashes were slideoffs, and there were no reported injuries, according to a sheriff's official.
Roads seemed to be worst on Highway 29 between Edgar and Abbotsford, Marathon County Sheriff's officials said. There were also slick spots in Wausau and Schofield on Grand Avenue.
Officials in Clark, Portage, and Wood Counties also reported being very busy Sunday dealing with weather-related incidents.
In Lincoln County, a few crashes were reported along with some slideoffs.
