The stores in the Wausau Center have joined forces in hopes of creating more random acts of kindness. The retailer donated more than $1200 worth of gifts and cards, which will be handed out to unsuspecting shoppers.
Newsline 9 walked around with Wausau Center General Manager, Megan Lawrence, as she handed out gifts. Lawrence says, "This is a great way for our stores to say thanks to our customers. The only thing we ask is that they pay it forward and pay it forward with a random act of kindness during the holiday season."
Lawrence says they get mixed reaction from shoppers when they initially approach them, "Some think we are going to give them a sales pitch and they just ignore us. But once they realized we are serious and just spreading the holiday spirit, they really like it."
Shopper Mickey Reimer of Antigo agrees, "At first, I thought she was going to spray me with perfume, like they do in the cosmetic area during the holidays. It is just a really nice idea, very positive and I plan to pay it forward."
The program runs through December 14th.
