EDGAR (WAOW) -
Abby and Gabby Bargender and Simon Brehm all share one very special thing in common. On December 12, 2012 the trio turned 12-years-old. And at St. John's Catholic school in Edgar, a surprise party awaited them.
"It was very surprising, I didn't know that my Dad would come," Gabby Bargender said.
"I thought it was going to be the middle school," Simon explained. "I didn't know my Mom and Dad and half of my family was going to be there."
Family, friends, classmates and teachers huddled in the music room sharing cupcakes, juice, and a very special birthday song.
But, if you took a look around the room, you'd notice there was something else to celebrate.
12/12/12 is also Aaron Rodgers day. And for their platinum birthday, meeting the star football player was at the top of their list.
"He doesn't have to, but it be nice," Simon explained of wanting the Green Bay Packer to wish him a happy birthday. "I understand he's a busy guy and everything."While that busy schedule kept Rodgers out of this classroom, there was no shortage of green and gold spirit.
"We just decided it's kind of a big deal and wanted to make them feel special," Simon's Dad, Doug said.
Well they certainly were feeling special, and a little something else.
"Old," the twins said in unison.
Old. If they only knew.
