Athlete of the Week: The Kollock Brothers

In Wisconsin Rapids, the Kollock family has a rink in their backyard where Trent, Isaac and Dylan have played hockey since they were little.

But this trio of brothers haven't played on the same team in over a decade until now.

If you call out the name "Kollock" on the ice, you might have to be a bit more specific.

"Right now, it's been going little Kollock, middle Kollock, big Kollock," older brother Devin Kollock said.

"Big Kollock", aka Devin, is a junior on the Pacelli co-op hockey team and is the role model to his two brothers, Trent and Isaac. These twin brothers are freshman on the team. All three attend Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids.

"I've learned a lot from him because I've been playing goalie over most of my years," Trent Kollock said. "But since I've played defense this year, so he's taught me a lot about my position and what I need to do."

All three are defensemen for the Cardinals and being brothers on the same team has its benefits.

"You know them so you kinda know what they're going to do," Isaac Kollock said. "When it happens, you can think before, if he's going to pass it, to which person."

They have yet to play at the same time, creating a sibling rivalry between the trio for precious ice time.

"It'll probably get us better competition as brothers, who's going to be the best, who's going to get the most goals and stuff," Isaac Kollock said.

"We're always pushing each other to be better and Devin's doing the best right now, but I'll get there."

Trent, Devin and Isaac Kollock. A family affair for your Newsline Nine Athletes of the Week.
