WAUSAU (WAOW) -
On Christmas, Vang Mee Xiong and Yong Yang got the present
they'd been waiting for.
The couple welcomed their first baby, Mary, into the world
at 10:30 a.m.
The proud parents don't speak English, but the father's
cousin, Tong Yang, says the baby's Hmong name is Nkauj Hnub. Her English name
is Mary.
Yang says the couple couldn't be happier about their new
daughter.
Baby Mary weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces.
Nurses say the delivery went smooth.
"Baby is healthy. Mom is healthy. Both are happy. So, it's a
good day," said Jenny Hsu, a nurse who helped deliver the baby.
Hsu says this time of year is special, but bringing new life
into the world makes the day even better.
"She's very cute, has a lot of dark hair," said Hsu.
A healthy, beautiful baby girl, the perfect gift for mom and
dad.
