WAUSAU (WAOW) -

Volunteers gathered at First United Methodist Church in Wausau Tuesday to serve a holiday meal.

Organizers say they made about 300 meal deliveries and served over 200 people in the church.

Many depend on the gathering for a warm meal, as well as the opportunity to spend Christmas with others.

It's nice. It's warm. It's fun to come visit with people and see Santa and get things," said Renee Woods, who attended the lunch.

This is the 44th year the church has served a Christmas meal in Wausau.

Organizers say this year's crowd was the largest they've seen.
