A car crashed into a Weston Business this afternoon causing a gas leak.
Traffic was stopped for almost an hour.
Dinomotive Service and Sales was closed when the car crashed into the side of the building.
Firefighters say a man driving suffered a medical emergency causing him to lose control of his car.
Officials say the crash broke a gas feed to the building.
The Weston Fire Chief says it’s fortunate the business was closed when the leak happened.
“Well, I think it could have been a lot worse if it had been a shop in operation. You’ve got heaters going, lights going. Any little spark could have set off the natural gas,” said Steve Meilahn, Weston Fire Chief.
The leak caused the 6300 block of Schofield Avenue to be shut down for about 45 minutes.
Wisconsin Public Service was on the scene to get the gas leak under control.
