A house was damaged in a fire in the Town of Wausau on Thursday.
The house, located off Highway 52, caught fire just after 2:00 p.m. Firefighters from multiple departments responded.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the Town of Wausau Fire Chief Kevin Yolitz has an idea of what happened.
"Upon arrival the crew had seen the outside of the stove here," he said."The fire was burning up the side of the walls, on to the deck and up into the attic. And at this time, we have extensive damage in the attic and the corner of the house."
There were people at home when the fire started, but no one was hurt.
