Powers Bluff opens for skiing, tubing

Powers Bluff Park in Arpin is open for skiing and tubing.

The park does not make its own snow. As a result, Wood County Park officials say they had to put off opening the hill.

The park opened for winter activities Wednesday, and it's set to remain open this weekend.

Some people are already out enjoying the runs.

"This is our first time coming here. So yeah, I like going down the hill. It's really fun," said Gracie Gundersen of Stevens Point.

Park officials say they run three tubing sessions and downhill skiing and snowboarding between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
