Many of us have at least one. New Year's Resolutions can be tough to keep, but Bill Bertram of Wausau said this year, he's dedicated.
"I'm going to hit it really hard this year and make 2013 my year," said Bertram.
His resolution for the New Year: getting in shape.
"I've set a goal for myself of 15 pounds and 15 years off my physical age," said Bertram.
This may be a familiar pledge, but he said he's really going to stick to it.
"I plan to hopefully in the fall, take a backpacking trip with my son to Yellowstone through the back country," said Bertram.
Employees at the YMCA said he's not alone.
"We do see a definite increase in membership at this time of the year," said YMCA Membership Director Christy Parks.
Bertram said he doesn't just have a goal, he has a plan to get it done.
"I'm going to change my eating habits to more white meat and more veggies and fruits for the coming years," said Bertram.
He hopes the support of friends and family will help him reach his goal.
"She's a pretty good taskmaster to keep me focused, so I'm sure she'll put the whip to me if I get off track," said Bertram.
But right now, he's on track. As the new year is about to begin.
One day down, about 365 to go.
