Racing fans packed State Park Speedway in Rib Mountain Saturday. It was the first day of the racing season and a chance for fans to remember racing icon, Dick Trickle. People at the track observed a moment of silence for Trickle. He died Thursday in an apparent suicide at the age of 71. A logging truck flipped on its side Friday evening, blocking traffic and sending one person to the hospital.
It happened in Marathon County on County Highway J near East Tower Road, east of Wausau. Marathon County Sheriff's officials say a car had stopped for deer on Highway J when the logging truck tried to go around, flipping on its side. Logs from the truck hit a third car.
A pregnant woman was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Officials said no one else was hurt.
Logs were scattered on the road. Traffic on Highway J was blocked as crews cleaned up the mess, but a Marathon County dispatcher told Newsline 9 traffic is moving again.
