Sunnyvale Park in Wausau is slated to host a pond hockey tournament this weekend. The Midwest Freeze is now in its second year. Last year, 14 teams took part. This year, more than 30 have signed up.
Organizers spent the weekend planning out the rinks that will be used on Sunnyvale Lake. This year's event includes plenty of entertainment in addition to the pond hockey on the ice.
Saturday afternoon, an exhibition by the Hanson Brothers from movie "Slap Shot" will take place. Packers fans can watch the playoff game on a big screen tv in a heated tent. The band Tuscan Road will also play for the crowd.
