A Dorchester company is now offering dairy products with increased Omega 3 fatty acids. Omega Valley Farmers is a business started through Heartland Co-Op Services. Company leaders held and open house to show off some of the products and allow people to taste the samples.
General Manager and CEO, Dennis Schultz says it took two years to develop the patented process, "It is an animal feed. The animals then become healthier and that in turn provides a natural increase in the Omega 3 fatty acid content in the food products they provide to animals."
Omega Valley has launched the sale of several cheeses. Eventually, it is hoped they will expand the product line to include meats and bakery items.
