High school students compete in curling tournament

The curling center in Wausau was packed with high school students hitting the ice.

The annual High School Bonspiel Curling Tournament kicked off Friday.

20 boys' teams and 18 girls' teams from a variety of schools around the state showed off their curling skills.

"They're very competitive yes, and beginning curlers are not quite as competitive and they're just learning the sport and that sort of thing but when you get to the final events it's very competitive and a tense experience to watch," said

The event runs for two days.
