Community leaders hope to increase involvement and keep young professionals in Marathon County.
The U.W. Extension Office held a summit at U.W. Marathon County on Saturday.
Organizers said the event is an opportunity for young professionals to learn about ways to become more involved and take leadership positions in the community.
"There's sometimes a disconnect, they don't know how to or who to go to, so I think that an event like this is really good to connect people and let them understand a little more about the process of getting involved in your community," said Organizer, Deanna Meek.
Organizers said more than 100 people took part in the event.
Workers said the event was made possible by a grant given to the school by Marathon County.
