Investigation into an illegal DVD operation in Kronenwetter has ended

A two-year investigation into an illegal DVD operation in Kronenwetter has come to an end.

The Kronenwetter Police Chief says they first learned of the operation in 2010. He says they gathered enough evidence and raided a house.

They say they found about 14-thousand pirated copies of DVDs.

Kim Maciaz pleaded no contest to the charge as part of a plea deal.

"We close it out and we can dispose of all this equipment or all of this property, as you might assume it took up a lot of space in our property room so we're kind of glad to get it done, and anything like that the MPPA or this firm locally here in Wisconsin is more than happy to pick it up and destroy it for us," said Dan Joling, Kronenwetter Police Chief.

An attorney for Maciaz says she received a suspended sentenced of six months in jail and three years probation.
