Governor Scott Walker made a stop in Weston on Thursday. While he was in town he weighed in on the decision to close three mills.
Wausau Paper announced late Friday that it plans to sell two of its mills in Wisconsin and one in Minnesota.
The Governor tells Newsline 9 he will work hard at making sure those mills still remain a strong presence in Wisconsin.
"We don't have a specific package on the table right now but that is definitely options we are looking at both with the department of workforce development to make sure those employees are secure at those sites and the economic and development corporation."
There is still no word on any potential buyers or if any jobs will be lost.
