More >> STEVENS POINT (WAOW) - An administrator at St. Peter's Middle School in Stevens Point says a seventh-grade boy collapsed and died in school on Tuesday morning. Administrator Todd Kuckkahn said Wednesday that no circumstances surrounding the death of Joey Miller were being released other than he died in school. St. Peter's is a Roman Catholic school. "We are shocked and saddened," Kuckkahn said. Marathon County Sheriff's Department officials say road conditions were a factor in a Friday afternoon crash.
It happened just after 12:15 p.m. in the town of Hewitt on Highway 52.
A woman and man, both from Antigo, were driving west bound when they lost control of their car. The vehicle went off the road, struck a culvert and then a utility pole.
Officials say the woman was transported to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt. A patrol lieutenant tells Newsline 9 the man had possible injuries, which means they weren't apparent, but he was complaining of pain.
A Marathon County Sheriff's Department Lieutenant says no citations have been issued.
