5-year-old girl with heart defect to meet Lady Gaga

Next month, 5-year-old Kayleigh Gurzynski will get to meet Lady Gaga thanks to members of the Wausau community.

Her mother, Melissa, said Kayleigh has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and Turner's Syndrome. The 5-year-old has had two major heart surgeries, but part of the left side of her heart is unfixable. Her mother told Newsline 9 there is nothing more doctor's can do.

Family and friends held a fundraiser for Kayleigh at Day's Bowl-A-Dome in Wausau Saturday night.

Kayleigh's mother said Lady Gaga's music helped her through some treatments, and that's why it's been her dream to meet the pop singer.

That dream will come true February 13th in Chicago, thanks to a local radio station and community support.

When the DJ played the singer's hit "Born This Way" at the 5-year-old's fundraiser, the entire crowd broke into song. You couldn't miss the smile on Kayleigh's face.

Kayleigh's mother said the 5-year-old can't wait to meet her favorite singer next month.
