A Wind Chill Advisory issued by the National Weather Service is set to end at 9 a.m. this morning for Vilas, Oneida, Lincoln, Forest, Langlade, Florence and Shawano Counties.
Wind chill values of -20 to -25 are expected in the advised area this morning. According to the National Weather Service, conditions like that can lead to frostbite on exposed skin in less than 30 minutes.
The National Weather Service canceled the Wind Chill Advisory for Marathon County early Wednesday morning.
Once again tonight, however a Wind Chill Advisory will be active for Taylor and Clark Counties from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 9 a.m. Thursday.
Early Tuesday morning much of the Northwoods was under a Wind Chill Warning and the rest of Wisconsin was under a Wind Chill Advisory. Wind chill values were reported as low as -40 in Rhinelander, -38 in Antigo, -34 in Marshfield, -24 in Wisconsin Rapids, -32 in Wausau and -25 in Stevens Point.
Wind chills on Wednesday will not be as intense as they were on Tuesday. Though temperatures will continue to stay colder than average for the next few days, by next week they are forecast to return to the low 30s.
