WAUSAU (WAOW) -
When cold temperatures hit, some local businesses actually heat up.
Tow truck drivers say they've been busy out on the roads during the past couple days. But, they say surprisingly it's not cars that need the tow, it is trucks.
Drives say because of the diesel fuel in most semi-trucks, the chances of them freezing are far greater than cars.
And that creates a lot of frigid work for the drivers.
"Towing trucks is a lot more work. Everything is heavier, takes more time, and it's just a bigger job to hook up a truck than it is to tow a simple car," Tim Murphy, Owner of Mountain View Tow said.
Experts recommend for both trucks and cars to let your vehicle warm up before hitting the road. They say giving the engine a chance to run will make your trip safer.
