There are a few local favorites to look out for in this weekend's Wausau 525 races. Wausau native Matt Schulz looks to make the top of the podium after a third place finish last week in Eagle River.
Then there's Tomahawk's Nick Van Strydonk. He's been racing since he was only four years old.
But the 2012 world champion finished a disappointing eighth last week at the derby track after running into engine troubles.
Wausau's track is the only one in Wisconsin he's never won at and the 22-year-old is looking to change that.
"Coming out here with little data to go on and not really as much testing times as we have at other venues," said Van Strydonk.
"That's why we're here today, on Friday, to test and tune, go out and get as much data as possible, throw a bunch of different combinations at the sled. Kinda narrow it down to something a little more racetrack specific."
