According to officials from the Wisconsin State Patrol, a school bus and car crashed around 10 p.m. Friday night killing two teenagers.

Authorities say 17-year-old Yalanda Maggio of Weyauwega and 17-year-old Levi Johnson of New London were killed in the crash.

They say it happened on County Highway W at Bean City Road in Waupaca County near New London.

Officials say the crash happened as the car traveled southbound around a curve and went into the northbound lane where it crashed into the bus.

Authorities say the school bus was carrying 39 children, two adult chaperones and a bus driver.

According to the State Patrol, the students were returning from a ski trip at Nordic Mountain and returning to New London Middle School.

Maggio and Johnson were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials also say three children from the bus and the bus driver were taken to the hospital for minor injuries and were released.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash and say slippery conditions are thought to be a factor.
