WAUSAU (WAOW) - Wausau police have arrested a 22-year-old man they believe is responsible for several garage burglaries.
According to a press release, police responded to a suspicious car in the alley of the 110 block of S. 4th Avenue. The car was parked with its headlights off, then drove further down the block and stopped with its headlights off again.
The driver was not in the car when officers arrived however they did find the driver nearby. Officers say the driver, Andrew Fleurant, gave deceptive answers about why he was in the area.
Police also say they found Fleurant's shoe impressions in the snow leading to several garages. When they searched his car, officers say they found tools, heaters, fishing equipment, gas containers, battery chargers and other items typically stored in garages.
Fleurant was charged with burglary according to online court records.
