Snow that fell across central Wisconsin this week has triggered the opening of snowmobile trails in at least three counties.
Trails in Marathon and Lincoln counties open at noon Friday. Trails in Langlade County open at 8 a.m. Saturday.
"Trails should be in good to excellent condition throughout the entire county," Langlade County recreation coordinator Tammy Kubiaczyk said in a statement. "Trails around Antigo and the southern part of the county, which cross plowed fields and undisked potato fields, may be rough in a few areas."
Lincoln County officials say trails open for all-terrain vehicle use in Zone 1 will open at 5 p.m. Friday but trails in Zones 2 and 3 will remain closed to ATV use until noon on Friday, Feb. 8.
