WAUSAU (WAOW) - Every Wednesday Charlotte Hoecker teaches an ice skating class for anyone who wants to learn. She says she was taught at young age, "My father taught me how to skate when I was four years old, and my sister and brother liked it, but I loved it."
At 83 years young, Hoecker says she isn't close to letting age slow her down, "I'm feeling good, I'll be 84 march 1st which is not very far away, I've been taken for being in my 60's and I said that'd be 6 years younger than my eldest child."
Hoecker has lived in Wausau for years. A place she agreed to move to from Maine on one condition. "I said ok, you find a city with a skating rink or I'm not leaving. I'm never going to give this up again."
Watching how easy this woman going on 84 makes it look, I had to try it myself. They say the key to staying young is finding what makes you happy, and there's no question ice skating is Charlotte's fountain of youth.
