WAUSAU (WAOW) - A judge has ordered a 31-year-old Mosinee man to stand trial on charges he sexually assaulted a woman and held her against her will.
Julian Alvarez is charged with second-degree sexual assault, false imprisonment, battery and strangulation and suffocation, according to the criminal complaint.
During a preliminary hearing Wednesday, a judge determined prosecutors presented enough evidence to warrant a trial, according to online court records.
The charges were filed after a woman passed a note to a bank teller asking for help. The woman told investigators she had a relationship with Alvarez and he had abused her and threatened her with a gun.
Alvarez is also charged with four counts of being a felon in possession of guns. The judge also ordered him to stand trial on those charges.
Alvarez remains in jail on a $20,000 cash bond.
He is to return to court March 14 to enter pleas to the charges.
