AUBURNDALE (WAOW) -
Some central Wisconsin high school students are helping in
the fight against breast cancer.
Auburndale High School's student council worked to raise
money for the Central Wisconsin Susan G. Komen Foundation. They presented the foundation
with a check for $1,500 Thursday.
Students said they chose to support breast cancer awareness because
the disease affects one out of every eight women.
Students sold shirts and held a raffle to raise money for
the cause.
"It was great to see so many people come together and donate
so much and wear the shirts, and for our first year, that was really great to
see," said Mikayla Jankowski, Auburndale High School student council president.
