Badgers put on comeback show

Just when it looked like the Hawkeyes had the Badgers number again, Wisconsin put on a comeback show and a gritty performance that led to a 74-70 win over Iowa in double overtime.

In a game that was going on three hours long, fans saw both teams struggle at times.

The Badgers let a 11-point first half lead slip away. Then they were down nine in the second half. But some clutch shots sent it to overtime.

Then a double OT period where Sam Dekker hit a late three pointer. And Ryan Evans finally came thru at the free throw line to give the Badgers a very satisfying win over Iowa.

Head coach Bo Ryan made it clear it was past his bedtime when the game finally ended around 10:40. Then he put his team's play in perspective.

"We just hung on, hung on and hung on some more," Ryan said.

"But to close that gap when we were down nine and to get it into the first overtime. That was really gutsy by our guys.

"Anytime you can get a win in the Big Ten or in a conference game especially because I think Iowa is a tough matchup for us. So we'll see what it does for us. We only have Michigan coming in at 11 on Saturday.
