A huge book sale kicks off at the Marathon County Public Library

A huge book sale kicked off in Wausau on Thursday.

About 20-thousand books are on sale at the Marathon County Public Library.

It's held three times a year to get rid of books that aren't checked out.

Volunteers say many people look forward to this event.

"For one thing the price and than the quality of some of the stuff we have there's books here that you really can't get anywhere else anymore they are kind of out of print and they're hard to come by and people are looking for something special," said library volunteer, Ken Srozinski.

Volunteers say last year's book sale raised about 10-thousand dollars.

Money raised benefits the library.
