Medford man not guilty of threats to county officials

Posted:

TAYLOR COUNTY (WAOW) -- The verdicts are in for a Medford man accused of threatening to kill a judge.

A Taylor County jury found Patrick Staton not guilty of that charge.  But he was convicted of seven others, including possessing improvised explosives.

Staton was arrested last year-- after officers were tipped off that he was allegedly making explosives and planned on targeting a Taylor County judge, district attorney and detective.

A search of his home and car turned up items believed to be used to make explosives.

He will be sentenced in April.
