Hundreds of curlers have been hitting the ice at the Wausau Curling Center.

The center is hosting its 64th annual Wausau Men's Invitational Bonspiel, but for the first time in their new facility.

Organizers said it's an exciting event that's brought 72 teams to Wausau, with players from across the state and the country.

"I come in here and I say wow, it's running very smoothly, we're running the guys on time and the guys are having a great time, they're saying the ice is great," said Head Bonspiel Chairperson, Kelly Fraser.

Organizers said they hope the tournament will raise about $12,000 for the curling club.

The tournament wraps up on Sunday.
