CLARK COUNTY (WAOW) - The Clark County Sheriff's Department reports that a Sunday afternoon crash sent 13 people to the hospital.
The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday on USH 10 about one mile west of Hickman Road, according to a press release.
Authorities say it appears that an eastbound vehicle lost control in the slushy road conditions, first sideswiping one westbound vehicle and then striking a second westbound vehicle nearly head on.
According to a press release, seven victims in the striking vehicle were transported to the hospital. Additionally, five people in the vehicle that was struck head on and one person in the vehicle that was side swiped was also hospitalized.
USH 10 was closed and traffic was re-routed for about four and a half hours.
The exact conditions of the victims are unknown, according to the release. Some have been treated and released and some are currently in critical condition. Three of the victims had to be extracted from the vehicles.
