STEVENS POINT (WAOW) - An administrator at St. Peter's Middle School in Stevens Point says a seventh-grade boy collapsed and died in school on Tuesday morning. Administrator Todd Kuckkahn said Wednesday that no circumstances surrounding the death of Joey Miller were being released other than he died in school. St. Peter's is a Roman Catholic school. "We are shocked and saddened," Kuckkahn said. "We trust that God in his infinite wisdom will walk with us in our grief."More >>

WAUSAU (WAOW) - Slushy snow in a hilly neighborhood of Wausau has forced the cancellation of garbage pickup because the trucks can't scale the hills, the mayor said Thursday.

Advance Disposal will not haul garbage in an area bordered by East Wausau Avenue north to Nina Avenue and North Sixth Street east to North 10th Street, the city said in a statement.

The city asks that all garbage containers be removed from the curb because snowplows will be clearing the streets Thursday night. Wausau received about 4 inches of snow Thursday.

Advance Disposal will not return to the neighborhood until next week, the city said.
