WASHINGTON (WAOW) - U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy says he has been appointed to the powerful House Budget Committee, which is chaired by fellow Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan.

Duffy said he will work to reduce the federal debt and pass balanced budgets.

"This is a tremendous chance to work on the critical fiscal issues facing our nation," Duffy said in a statement.

Duffy was elected to a second term last November.
