The boys' high school state championships took place in Madison this weekend.
Wausau East's Garrett Richetto won his heat in the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:46.68. He finished 11th overall. His teammate Mitch Straub recorded the Lumberjacks' lone top 10 performance of the afternoon, finishing in eighth place in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 52.19.
SPASH's Joel Harris swam in two relay races and two individual races in Madison, including the 200 yard individual medley. He finished fifth in his heat with a time of 2:01.57, finishing 21st overall.
Overall, Wausau East finished in 15th place with 31 points and SPASH finished 23rd. Madison Memorial won the state championship.
