D.C. Everest's Olivia Wendt wins snowboarding state title


The middle day of the Alpine Ski and Snowboard State Meet, saw several top ten performances in La Crosse.

Olivia Wendt of D.C. Everest became state champion in the snowboard giant slalom competition.
She finished with a combined time of 62.83 seconds, more than two seconds over Emily Babcock from Rhinelander, who placed second.

Fellow Evergreen David Wilke took fourth in the boys' event while his teammate Jason Parde finished eighth.

The state championships wrap up with three more skiing events tomorrow.
