Judge: Portage Co. can clean up Jost property

PORTAGE COUNTY (WAOW) - A judge has cleared the way for Portage County to clean up the property of a man accused of fraudulently cashing Social Security checks of his mother who was last seen in the 1980s.

Circuit Court Judge Thomas Flugaur issued a default judgment Monday against Charles Jost, according to online court records.

Portage County went to court seeking to clean up what it says are violations of solid waste disposal, automobile wrecking/salvage/recycling and vehicles not intended for storage on Jost's property in rural Portage County near Amherst Junction.

The 66-year-old Jost, along with his sister Delores Disher, and brother-in-law Ronald Disher, were charged in September with fraudulently cashing their mother, Marie Jost's, Social Security checks for years. Marie Jost was last seen in the 1980's.
