
STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team will host Northwestern College (Minn.) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday, March 2.
UWSP finished the regular season 21-4 overall and 14-2 in conference en
route to winning the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
title.
The Pointers were undefeated at home through the regular season.
UWSP earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament after being ranked
in the top-25 of the D3hoops.com weekly poll all season, peaking at No. 5
on two different occasions.
This marks the Pointers' seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
The last time UWSP hosted an NCAA Tournament game was when the Pointers
were crowned NCAA Division III Champions in 2009-10. The Pointers hosted
and defeated Carleton College in the first round, St. Norbert in the
second round, and UT-Dallas and Illinois-Wesleyan
in the sectionals.
The Eagles qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive
season after beating Bethany Lutheran College in the Upper Midwest
Athletic Conference Tournament championship game.
NWC finished the regular season 21-6 overall and 12-2 in conference play.
