A nursing home in Wausau may be getting a new look

A nursing home in Wausau may be getting a new look.

North Central Health Care wants to renovate one of it's centers in Wausau.

Two public forums were held Monday to talk about revamping Mount View Care Center.

Many of those that showed up for the meeting said they'd like to see improvements in the bedrooms, bathrooms, and the parking lot area.

Administrators say updating the facility is necessary.

"We believe that we are able to operate the facility at a lower cost of care if we were to update some of the physical plant," said Lori Koeppel, Nursing Home Administrator.

"We care for our people we want them cared for well and this facility has worked hard to make that happen," said Wausau resident, Linda Haney.

There's no timeline for construction to begin. Administrators say they're just in the planning phase now.
