There are new developments in the plan to widen Wausau's Thomas Street.
The city's finance committee voted unanimously against using tax increment financing to help pay for the project. That financing uses tax money to pay for development.
Committee members instead voted to send the project back to the city council to discuss funding options.
The plan is expected to cost about $15 million. A five-lane proposal was approved back in 2008, but the project hit a snag when the city recently learned it would not get federal funding.
Plenty of clouds the next few days, but also warmer.
The snowmobile trails opened in Vilas CountyFriday at 5 p.m.
