It was an emotional night for Kira Trevino's friends and family.

It's been a week since the D.C. Everest graduate was last seen in Minnesota.

"There are no words that would take away the confusion, the pain of what's happening," said Aaron Winowiski, New Day Christian Church pastor.

Dozens attended a prayer vigil Friday night in Weston. It was a time to reflect, and pray for answers.

"This family is totally torn up," said family friend Amy Auner. "And I understand that they are still trying to figure out what is happening."

A spokesperson for the family says it's been a tough week as they search for closure.

"Mixed emotions up and down, but you know they're in that stage now of unbelief and trying to resolve everything that's happened," said Dan Vergin. "They're not able to finish or really begin the grieving process because, you know, Kira's still missing."

Members of the community also attended the vigil. Many wondered how this could happen. But despite the shock, people are coming together to help the family get through this.

"They're surprised by the amount of support they've had though this," Vergin said. "With people just well wishing, prayers and condolences and all that goes on. I think it's pretty overwhelming."
