Girls Hockey State Championships

The Central Wisconsin Storm came to Madison with hopes of capturing back to back state titles, but in the semifinals they would have to get past an opponent familiar to them on this particular ice. That team being 2012's runner up, Onalaska.

There was no shortage of scoring from the first drop of the puck. Just two minutes in junior Savannah Felch scores off the feed from Kelly Knetter.

After the Hilltoppers tied it up the Storm regained the lead with a goal from junior Alex Guenther, making it 2-1.

Onalaska would knot it up once again just a minute later and then take a 3-2 lead with this goal from Teresa Knutson.

With 11 minutes left to play Kylie Gazzalo nets one to close the gap to just one yet again. That goal would prove to be the Storm's last of the season, as they just couldn't overcome the one goal deficit throughout the remainder of the of third losing to Onalaska 5 to 4.

After the loss coach Jana Wimmer said her team played to conservatively early on leading to opportunities for the hilltoppers.
