Hayward downs Onalaska 5-2 in WIAA Girls Hockey Championship

MADISON, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The Onalaska Girls Hockey team comes up short in the WIAA State Championship, losing to Hayward 5-2.

The Hilltoppers played from behind the entire game. By the end of the second period, Hayward's Meredith Ingbretson had a hat trick to push them out to a 4-2 lead.

Theresa Knutson scored Onalaska's two goals in the second period at the 11:56 and 16:43 marks.

The team finishes the season .with a record of 23-5.
