TOWN OF PINE GROVE (WAOW) -

Portage County Sheriff's Office officials say a fire destroyed a building and pieces of equipment on the Paramount Farms property. A caller reported it just before 1:00 a.m.

The structure, located just east of I-39, was engulfed in flames when crews arrived at the scene.

Authorities say it housed tractor trailer units that were destroyed in the fire.

Several fire departments responded including those from Bancroft, Almond, Plover, Town of Hull, Town of Stockton, Amherst, Rosholt, Hancock, Wild Rose and Grand Rapids.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
