Wood County K-9 missing

PORTAGE COUNTY (WAOW) -

Wood County Sheriff's Department officials say one of their K-9 officers is missing. They say the German shepherd, named Toro, was last seen Sunday night after a K-9 was requested by a State Patrol Trooper for a vehicle search.

Officials say Toro ran into a wooded area near Johnson Avenue at State Highway 54 in Portage County and never returned.

Officials searched throughout the night but have not been able to locate the K-9.

Authorities say the German shepherd is not dangerous unless he is provoked. The K-9 is dark brown and black and weighs approximately 80 pounds.

Toro might have a black leather leash attached to a metal color.

If you see Toro, you are asked to call the Wood County Communication Center at 715-421-8702.
