UPDATE: FAA: Learjet with faulty landing gear lands safely

Posted:

ST. LOUIS (AP) - The Federal Aviation Administration says a small aircraft carrying eight passengers with landing gear troubles safely landed at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.

FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Cory says the Learjet 45 landed "without incident" at 1:32 p.m. Monday.

The aircraft was diverted to St. Louis from St. Louis Downtown Airport in Cahokia, Ill., after departing Wooster, Ohio, earlier Monday. The FAA says the aircraft had no nose gear collapse.

The FAA says the pilot reported trouble with the aircraft's front landing gear.

Cahokia is 5 miles south of St. Louis.
