WOOD COUNTY (WAOW) - A missing drug dog from Wood County has been found in a wooded area of Portage County.

The Wood County Sheriff's Department confirms the dog named Toro was found eating a deer carcass.

The dog will be back to work Friday.

Toro is a highly trained drug dog. He's been with the Wood County Sheriff's Department more than 2 years. Officials there said he's part of the family.

Sheriff's officials said State Patrol asked for a K-9 to check a car in Portage County. During the search, Toro got away from his handler and ran into the woods.
