First lady: More to do to push healthier eating

WASHINGTON (AP) -

First lady Michelle Obama is praising the food industry for efforts to market healthier foods while saying that more must be done.

Speaking Friday at a childhood obesity summit, Mrs. Obama encouraged the industry to put better labels on food, limit marketing of unhealthy foods, and do more to promote healthy foods.

She invoked her years as a working mom who would run through the grocery store trying to make healthy decisions for her children.

Mrs. Obama says that reducing childhood obesity is, in her words, "a moral obligation to our children." She also calls the effort, quote, "a patriotic obligation to our country."
