Teen reports attempted robbery in downtown Wausau


A 15-year-old boy told Wausau police a man armed with a knife tried to rob him around 4:15 p.m. Friday in the downtown area.

The Wausau Police Department says the teen told officers the man came up behind him on the sidewalk in the 400 block of 2nd Street.

The boy says the man had a ski mask over his face, asked for the teen's wallet.

According to police, the boy said he didn't have a wallet, and the man pushed him to the ground and ran away.

Police tell us there were no other witnesses.

Investigators are looking at surveillance video to get more answers.
